SWJ TECHNOLOGY Looking for Logistics Task Force Engineer at Mont-Joli, Quebec, Canada Full Time

Task force support required onsite at a supplier delivering product to an overseas OEM. Provide transparency to OEM from supplier regarding delivery topics. Document areas for improvement and create actionable data on systemic bottleneck issues for management decisions. Give feedback to provided contacts regarding needed escalation as well as daily communications. Basically, being the eyes & ears of the OEM onsite at the supplier.

Responsibilities

• manage both Quality & Delivery related challenges in a production environment
• Focus on correct (quantity and timing first, secondly quality) shipments to OEM
• Backwards review of the chain of processes towards shipment, looking at escalation process and helping to manage data-driven escalation
• Review capacity (WIP, Safety stock, etc… and make sure being reported correctly each day)
• Hold Management team accountable, support meetings with final customer
• Review process, if possible, changes need to happen, ensure that proper training was completed to understand the processes
• Assure all management/supervision present
• Identify LEAN opportunities and make suggestions or look for methods of improvement
• Report out all escalations, discrepancies, etc. to OEM for no surprises
• To monitor the Production schedule adherence/compliance
• Investigate discrepancy issues
• Perform other duties as assigned in order to support customer and business demands

Reporting

• Part Family, Goal vs. Actual, Scrap, Employee #, Downtime (research route cause), notes on performance
• Investigate discrepancy issues (e.g. updated numbers on boards do not match inventory levels, shipments are not being calculated for

Inventory, WIP is not being updated and thus influence on order process could be wrong or misleading, support and escalation is needed)

• Provide Buffer numbers for every truck that is sent, Downtime (research and determine root cause), notes on performance
• Create or adjust the report as requested by customer (graphs, charting, etc.)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• well versed in the Quality management systems, delivery functions and commercially astute to manage a very challenging supplier
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to read Drawings and Process Flow Charts.
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external
• Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance)
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks and obtain results working within strict time frames
• Strong attention to detail

• Strong allrounder with a good understanding how the automotive industry works.
• Self-starter with hands-on mentality
• Six Sigma.
• 8D Root Cause Analysis.
