Role:
Fin’s is seeking an experienced Meat & Seafood Cutter , with high attention to detail, who is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient process for processing different proteins, in order to maintain a high standard of yields for the various products.
Role Responsibilities:
Trim and fabricate meat and seafood products for further processing as per specifications.
Hand portion products as per customer specifications.
Use and care of knives / hooks / steel
Comply with knife handling best practices (below)
Meet customer demands and stock orders – recognition and trimming of items without excess trim loss
Assist as directed in start-up operations
Complete end of shift activities, i.e., emptying tables, preparing and follow WIP process.
Maintain efficiencies and proper documentation as required.
Maintain proper cleaning and sanitizing of miscellaneous parts / equipment prior to / end of shift shut down
Ensure that any equipment being used is safe to always operate
Housekeeping – maintain overall cleanliness of plant environment
Comply with all safety rules and adherence to all Company Health and Safety policies, OHSA. Achieve if required the necessary certifications for a pallet jack /walkie operator.
Comply with all Food Safety and HACCP regulations
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
Extensive knowledge of Meat & Seafood Products
High-end Meat and/or Fish processing experience of two (2) years or greater
Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure, challenging environment
Long-term standing required
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be a team player and possess a positive attitude
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to complete repetitive tasks with attention to detail
Ability to work autonomously and part of a collaborative team.
Basic math skills required
