Our client is a privately owned Engineering ”Boutique” firm headquartered in Montreal. They are currently experiencing very rapid growth and are looking for a talented, motivated, and experienced SeniorStructural Engineer.
In this position, you will support, mentor, and supervise employees on multidisciplinary project in the design and construction of structures for mostly private sector project, high-end houses design 5-20M$+, steel industrial building, condo project 15-20+ floors, etc.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Design and analyze structural systems and components for various construction projects;
- Manage and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations;
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success;
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess structural conditions and provide recommendations;
- Perform structural analysis using software such as SAFE, ETABS, CAD, Revit, AutoCAD;
- Develop project plans and schedules, ensuring adherence to budget and timeline constraints;
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
Skills:
- Bilingual English and French (an asset)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
- Professional Engineer (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) License required;
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering design and analysis;
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards;
- Experienced in design of structure (wood, steel and concrete). Home renovation, Steel buildings and concrete structures;
- Expertise in seismic design in general;
- Have basic knowledge of software such as CAD, Revit and AutoCAD;
- Familiar with engineering software: Safe & Etabs;
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions;
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams;
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance;
- Being available as of January 2024.
