General Labourer/ Modular Installer
Tasu Construction is looking for skilled labourers for the construction of camp and modular projects. This is a hands-on position that requires mature and responsible personnel. The position will require travel to remote and regional locations across British Columbia. With rotation to be negotiated, based on point of hire and project specific needs.
Job Qualifications
- Strong work ethic and punctuality
- Previous construction or labourer experience is an asset
- Completion of basic First Aid, Fall Arrest, or Health and Safety Training an asset
- Previous experience operating equipment is an asset (variable reach forklift and skid steer)
- Ability to follow direction
- Drug / alcohol free
- Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform heavy manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Organization, cleanliness and a professional attitude are a must
- Strong decision making and delegation skills
- Superior organization and time management skills
- Team player able to provide support, motivation and encouragement to others and has strong communications skills
- Proving own hand tools is a bonus but not a requirement
Responsibilities
- Daily responsibilities will vary and will include all aspects of construction of camp facility
- Load and unload materials and move materials to designated work areas
- Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties, working as a team
- Constant attention and active participation in maintaining a strong safety culture around the site
- Daily Job Hazard Analysis
- Monitor inventory and notify supervisor when supplies are needed
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans in a timely manner.
- Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards
- Monitor equipment for any servicing requirements and bring to management’s attention
Physical Requirements
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform all job requirements
Travel Requirements
- Must have valid Government Identification for travel
- Must be willing and able to travel and stay at remote work sites regularly
Other requirements
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug and alcohol clearance test
