Department Overview
The Wealth Finance department has accountability for the major financial functions of TDBG’s Wealth Management business, providing business planning, financial measurement and analysis, valuation, and risk assessment services. The team works closely with the individual Wealth businesses (Direct Investing, Private Wealth Management, Financial Planning, Asset Management, Shared Services and Operations) and TDBG’s centralized financial areas of expertise (Chief Accountant’s Group, Performance Management & Insights, Enterprise Strategy & Decision Support, Finance Shared Services, etc.) to provide quality guidance and advice consistent with TDBG’s overall financial strategy and objectives.
Job Description
The Senior Finance Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, Wealth Finance. The position is responsible for developing and providing value-added management reporting and financial support to the Advice LOBs of the Wealth business. The position will support both the Reporting and the Forecasting and Planning functions.
The successful candidate must have strong financial skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. Familiarity with TDBFG financial systems (specifically the mechanics of forecast/planning in Hyperion) is a strong asset, as is experience in the Wealth Management industry.
The role has a number of accountabilities which include, but are not limited to the following:
Participate in the production of detailed monthly management reporting, insightful, drivers-based variance analysis and reporting for Wealth Advice businesses, as well as ensuring the development of ongoing process and quality enhancements
Develop and design value-added management reporting to provide insightful interpretation of key business drivers underlying the business results, highlight key issues and make appropriate recommendations where required
Collaborate with other Finance teams to understand allocations, and various drivers of revenue and expenses
Provide value-added financial analysis and advisory support to business partners to develop and execute strategic plans and provide support on ad hoc requests for business analysis. This includes the preparation of presentation decks to senior management, financial analysis, and business cases, and conducting Finance presentations to business partners as required.
Participate in planning and forecasting for Wealth Finance, collaborating with business partners, technology, and vendor management to develop the quarterly forecasts /annual business plan, and medium-term outlook.
Effective interaction with the various stakeholders; ensuring well communicated and achievable timelines; and ensure Enterprise submission deadlines are met.
Be agile and problem solve in response to deviations to timelines and changing requirements.
Develop and maintain relationships with business / finance partners and other stakeholders; Effective interaction with the various stakeholders to ensure accuracy and to minimize duplication.
Job Requirements
University/College education with a focus on Finance, Accounting, Commerce or Business
Business and/or accounting designation (MBA/CFA/CMA/CGA/CA) would be an asset
Understanding of TD Wealth business would be an asset
Hyperion 11 SmartView, OBI, would be an asset
Working knowledge of VBA or other languages would be an asset.
Wealth business knowledge would be an asset
