TDS Personnel Looking for Accounting Specialist at Toronto, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Our client within residential property management requires an Accounting Specialist to join their team. Experience with Yardi required.

Responsibilities:

• Organize and match purchase orders with invoices
• Review, code, and input invoices into the Yardi system
• Execute electronic transfers and payments
• Conduct cheque runs as needed
• Record transactions in the general ledger for various rebates and miscellaneous income
• Manage utility and property tax payments
• Process WSIB payments
• Allocate visa payments accurately
• Calculate and remit management fees
• Maintain filing systems
• Update payment schedules monthly
• Address vendor requests and inquiries promptly
• Compile supporting documentation for audits
• Generate monthly rent billings in Yardi, ensuring accuracy prior to posting
• Apply additional charges to tenants when necessary (e.g., parking, lockers)
• Record vacancies
• Enter rental payments into Yardi
• Utilize RDC machine to deposit cheques
• Establish PAP (pre-authorized payments) for tenants
• Handle NSF payments
• Issue N4s (Notice of Termination for non-payment of rent)
• Draft collection letters
• Assist tenants with login security codes
• Provide technical assistance to tenants as needed
• Prepare N1s (Notice of Rent Increase)
• Generate annual tax receipts
• Record monthly move-ins
• Record monthly move-outs and apply Last Month’s Rent (LMR)
• Post and distribute deposit interest
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Familiarity with basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
• Proficiency in Yardi software
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent communication abilities
• Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a team environment
