Responsible for managing and interacting on a daily basis with 3PL to ensure proper management of Thales material warehoused there and for all inbound and outbound deliveries of materials from warehouse. Providing day to day management and mentorship to the Logistics team, including ensuring appropriate staffing levels, staff development and training plans. Set, collect, analyze metrics and drive improvement plans for inventory and shipping activities. Responsible for HS Code and export/import information maintenance and application.
Key Responsibilities:
3PL Management
Daily management of 3PL to ensure all applicable Thales processes are implemented and materials are received and delivered on time
Develop and implement metrics to monitor 3PL
Work with 3PL to investigate and resolve logistics and inventory issues
Develop and suggest process improvements.
Logistics Management – Inventory and Shipping management
Manage deliveries from 3PL and drop shipments
Ensure physical inventory is accurate and up to date and provide corresponding reports on a monthly basis
Liaise with Finance and suppliers for inventory reconciliation
Interact with Industrialization for strategic inventory and End of Life strategy
Ensure that inventory is kept at minimum level, driving permanent improvement plans for both component and end deliverable levels
Develop and maintain a cost efficient shipping process in which inbound/outbound shipping is cost optimized and compliant with customer requirements
Ensure that inventory and shipping related processes and transactions are compliant with BU / Group level Inventory and Financial policies and guidelines, and monitor accordingly (SCOR, external and internal audit)
Coordinate and ensure full compliance to export control rules
Coordinate and ensure full compliance to HS Codes and rules
Monitor Logistics team budget (MYB).
Technical
Stays fully abreast of industry standards in its discipline
Keep Departmental personnel up-to-date on developments in the Department’s discipline
Communication
Maintenance and demonstration of superior interpersonal written and oral skills in relations with key interfaces (Project Management, Suppliers, Finance)
Maintain complete and effective lines of communication with staff and management
Report on a regular and periodic basis achievements, issues and goals
Attend and participate in meetings as required
Financial
Management of the relevant inventory levels and corresponding reporting
Ensure correct allocation of Broker invoices to correct cost centers and/or Projects
Logistics team budget setting and management within corporate limits of authority.
Required Qualifications:
3 to 5 years of experience managing a 3PL
3 to 5 years of international logistics experience
3 to 5 years of inventory management
2-3 years of personnel supervision.
