Trans Global Insurance (a banner of The Brick) is actively seeking to expand our service team. We need people with a great customer focused attitude! The National Director reports to the Associate Vice President of Financial Services for TGI’s parent company, a large publicy-traded Canadian organization.
Responsibilities:
- Complete oversight of day to day activities of Trans Global Insurance (TGI) and Trans Global Life Insurance (TGLI) including business development, marketing initiatives, claims management, customer service, and overall operations
- P&L financial and operational accountability for the two companies
- Development of a comprehensive strategic plan and supporting annual operating plan for the company
- Liaise with the executive leadership team and present weekly and monthly performance updates on behalf of TGI
- Develop, foster, and maintain fruitful and transparent profitable relationships with external partners as well as internal customers.
- Identify, research, and develop new business opportunities to support growth of the company and its product offerings.
- Manage/support negotiations on terms and agreements with new partners and other critical business relationships; including pricing models and all relevant business terms.
- Leverage existing industry contacts and knowledge to secure new business leads and relationships.
- Continue to develop and market the TGI website to reach the largest possible customer base
- Identify partnerships, alliances and acquisition opportunities that extend TGI’s value proposition.
- Constantly be aware of competitive market information, industry changes, regulatory updates, and insurance trends to ensure TGI is well positioned to succeed and prosper.
- Lead the responsible infrastructure build-out of TGI resources to support profitable growth
- Occasional travel may be required
- Location: Edmonton
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Marketing or Public Relations
- Actuarial science or mathematics education would be an asset
- CIP designation or other insurance education/designations would be an asset
- Extensive experience in networking and relationship building
- Proven sales expertise, marketing skills and ability to develop extensive product knowledge
- Results-driven
- Proven success on project teams
- Experience managing direct reports and building successful teams
- International insurance experience an asset but not required
