Main Purpose and Function
There is a vacancy for a Planning Assistant III in the Planning, Urban Design, and Sustainability Department – Community Planning. This position would provide technical and professional support to teams undertaking policy development and implementation in Planning, Urban Design and Sustainability, initially focused on the Plan Implementation Group in Community Planning.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Many of the duties associated with this position will involve support to planning professionals who are undertaking land use and built form analysis, preparing policies and presentations, and working with both the community and other agencies to ensure visions established through our community plans are implemented and build towards a healthier, more sustainable and equitable city. Where operationally appropriate and subject to change, the City of Vancouver has a Flexible Work Program. This program allows staff to work remotely 1 – 4 days a week from locations that are a daily commutable distance from their work at a City worksite. At this time this position is eligible to be part of the Flexible Work Program.
