The Conference Board of Canada is a Health research hub that leads new groundbreaking research initiatives. We produce evidence-based research to help strengthen Canada’s health system and host engaging events that bring health leaders together from coast to coast.

Our ideal candidate has demonstrated research experience in health economics and a strong understanding and experience conducting model based economic evaluations, using Canadian health data assets and skills in quantitative methods and statistical analyses. Excellent writing skills with experience writing briefings, manuscripts, and research communications for a broad array of health system stakeholders (decision and policy makers, clinicians, health administrative leadership, and academia). Will also possess knowledge of Canada’s health systems, applied approaches to policy analysis and qualitative research methods. We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada. To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and be a proactive communicator. Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.

About the Role

• Undertake and contribute to research projects of varying complexity applying appropriate quantitative and/or qualitative research methods (e.g., economic evaluation; quantitative model development, testing and validation; survey development and analysis, comparative case and/or policy studies, literature reviews, interviews, and group facilitation).
• Produce high quality, well written and succinct research reports, executive summaries, data visualizations, and proposals.
• Analyze and quickly translate complex research results into key messages and visualizations for senior executives, decision makers, and the public.
• Use digital tools/ systems that support research project workflow, assignments, tracking, stakeholder outreach/engagement and communications/knowledge mobilization.

• Actively contribute and participate in a dynamic and highly productive team environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members, colleagues, research advisors, external stakeholders, and customers.
• Commitment to producing high quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects interactions with colleagues and customers.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A graduate degree in health sciences, economics, health or business administration, public policy, or a related discipline.

• Professional and business acumen generally gained through a minimum of 2 years related experience.

• Experience with economic modeling using Excel and a variety data sources as inputs.
• Experience using SPSS or other statistical analysis programs an asset.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Advanced writing skills with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and quickly.

• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to exercise discretion and good judgment;
• Strong presentation skills;
• An understanding of health care system policy, funding and stakeholders, including challenges and issues facing Canadian organizations in both private and public sectors.
• Sound understanding of quantitative health economic; and qualitative research methodologies.
• Demonstrated success in dealing with complex research issues in a multi-stakeholder environment.

• Ability to demonstrate time management skills to manage and prioritize workload responsibilities and timelines;
