Reporting to a Manager of Family and Income Stability, in cooperation with the Family and Income Stability team, the Service Coordinator provides financial and employment assistance to clients, incorporating regulations, policies and procedures of the Ontario Works Act, local policies and other legislation as applicable with the goal of assisting the client in their transition from reliance on social assistance to meeting personal and career objectives that fulfill the individual’s potential and lead to self-sufficiency. The Service Coordinator uses a collaborative, community-based approach to support clients in their transition to self-sufficiency. This includes making the client aware of community resources and services, advocating on behalf of clients to service providers, mitigating barriers to accessing services, and following up with clients to ensure that services were beneficial to the client.
