Position Purpose:
The International Transportation Operations Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the delivery of stock inbound ocean containers from the port of discharge to The Home Depot Canada’s Distribution Centres, as well as return of the empty equipment to the steamship lines. This includes Transport planning, data entry and reporting of metrics, invoice processing and general logistics clerk and transport office duties.

This includes Transport planning, data entry and reporting of metrics, invoice processing and general logistics clerk and transport office duties.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage calls and email correspondence from vendors, carriers, and internal stakeholders and resolve or refer them as appropriate.
Allocate volume to dray carriers and monitor deliveries and empty returns; manage exceptions
Utilize quantitative skills to analyze, validate, manipulate and manage large amounts of data specific to problem solving and trend analysis reporting.
Establish and maintain a quality repository of historic volume, cost and performance data.
Develop and maintain relevant reports and applications such as Carrier KPIs, Port Dwell and Transportation Spend reporting. Assist with the preparation of presentation materials.
Identify and act upon opportunities for improvement, optimize Transportation processes and support cost out initiatives.
Support Canada Customs and Trade Compliance related initiatives as appropriate.
Any other day to day tasks relating to Transportation operations, and other duties as required.
Experience/Knowledge Required:
Must fulfill minimum time in position and performance management requirements.
Knowledge of and adherence to Home Depot policies and procedures.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; effective presentation skills.
Ability to work within a team environment or independently as required.
Detail and task oriented, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with a minimum intermediate skill level in Excel.
Education Required: bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
Certified Customs Specialist preferred / desirable.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2+.
