THE SITE SUPERVISOR ROLE

As the “go-to” person on-site, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are completed on time and uphold our high-quality service standards. You’ll be responsible for all equipment and crew on site, including training, leading, and coaching. Leading and coaching a dynamic crew, your responsibilities include coordinating daily activities, conducting room inspections, and fostering a safe, respectful environment. Your ability to adapt to changes is pivotal, guiding the team through dynamic situations in this constantly evolving environment.

*Please note that this is a high-travel role, where you’ll be working on-site at hotels throughout AB and BC. A vehicle is required for this position.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Attend startup meetings with the leadership team for document, binder, plan, and schedule review.
  • Set project plans, provide crew orientation, and oversee special arrangements.
  • Coordinate daily activities with the Project Manager.
  • Conduct morning/evening team meetings, update job schedules, and report to head office.
  • Manage drivers, deliveries, and waste removal.
  • Inspect rooms per the Room Inspection sheet, ensuring health and safety compliance.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, inventory, and track crew work hours.
  • Perform site openings/closings as needed before 8 am.
  • Ensure crew is trained in room setup, proper lifting, hotel navigation, customer relations, FF&E unwrapping, and safety standards.
  • Recognize and cross-train crew members.
  • Uphold The Install Crew’s professional image and provide timely feedback to celebrate successes.
  • Maintain clean uniforms and approved safety footwear.
  • Exhibit professional conduct and respect toward guests, contractors, and staff.
  • Keep rooms, hallways, and work areas clean, reinforcing hotel rules.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Leadership experience in a position related to operations, warehousing, facilities or construction.
  • Furniture installation experience (paid/professional experience) and in using hand or electric tools to assemble furniture.
  • Excellent problem solving and resolution abilities -“I’m on it” describes you as you take an active role participating
  • in meetings and helping to solve problems.
  • Skillful in navigating a matrix of information, adept at adjusting plans as needed, all while fostering a positive team environment.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring others and providing feedback in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. You do not hesitate to ask question, clarify instructions and seek
  • approval when and where warranted. Respectful and assertive communication is necessary.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, as well as follow through. You are self-directed and takes
  • initiative.
  • Results-oriented and highly skilled at keeping tasks and projects moving along.
  • Team oriented and highly collaborative. Ability to connect and work with new staff quickly and effectively.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Hours 8-5pm Monday to Saturday, generally on site (depending on your location/job site location)
  • Travel to site – a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license is required
  • Work from hotel site with frequent travel, food stipend + travel costs covered
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs is required
  • Overtime may be required
  • PPE required on job (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses and steel toe boots), not provided
  • Driving from site to site may be required

NOTE: Travel and On-Site Living

This role involves travel to various locations for project assignments, providing a dynamic work environment. As a Site Supervisor, you’ll need to be adaptable to different settings and willing to work in diverse locations. The company typically covers travel expenses, ensuring a seamless experience.
