The Medical Billing Group (MBG) Looking for Medical Billing Specialist at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Full Time

QDoc is a leading virtual healthcare company with the mission to ensure equal access to medical care for all Canadians, regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic status. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled medical billing specialist to join our team in Downtown Winnipeg. As a medical billing specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Medical Billing Group (MBG) division. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service in the healthcare industry. 

Responsibilities

• Answer and direct phone calls, providing assistance and information to clients (healthcare providers). 
• Data entry of billing codes.  
• Gather critical demographic patient information required for billing purposes. 
• Create monthly reports.   
• Provide physicians with billing support and training as required. 
• Continuous learning for changes to billing rules around provincial health and third parties. 
• Submit and track medical billing claims to the appropriate agencies. 
• Review and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Medical Billing Group. 

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or equivalent 
• Medical terminology knowledge 
• Medical billing experience is an asset. 
• PHIA training is an asset. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor 
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail 
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, for example, Accuro.  
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 
• Ability to type at least 70 words per minute.
