The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Development Finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the coordination, preparation and analysis of project reporting and other financial reports for a portfolio of MCC’s development projects.
What you’ll be responsible for day to day:
Compiles information and prepares financial modeling to assist in the timely completion of monthly and quarterly management reporting for internal purposes and to meet reporting obligations to partners and lenders.
Compiles detailed information about existing agreements for sold housing units and proposed selling prices for unsold units to support revenue forecasting.
Prepares monthly reports of actual costs for land development budgets, vertical construction costs and sales and marketing expenditures. Reports provide detailed analysis of any variances between actual and planned results.
Assists in preparation and calculation of annual land and servicing cost allocations for each community.
Prepares schedules and information for monthly draws on MCC’s construction financing facilities and purchaser deposits.
Prepares schedules and information for monthly cost consultant reports on high-rise condominium projects.
Ensures all project pro-forma information, forecasts and cash flow projections are prepared accurately and updated monthly for review and are accompanied by variance reports detailing the changes to project.
Monitors financial performance and project timelines and identify risks and opportunities.
Under direction of the Project Manager, read various joint venture legal agreements and assist in creation of appropriate cost and reporting structures within SAP.
Under direction of the Project Manager, prepare calculations in accordance with the terms and conditions of various legal agreements and prepare any required reporting.
Participate in the annual budgeting process.
Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
Who we are looking for:
Education: Post-secondary education (college or university) with a concentration in accounting and/or finance.
Experience: A minimum of one to two (1-2) years of relevant work experience.
Specialized Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
