Position Summary
Working within NCC’s National Finance department, this position will provide support for the financial management, tracking, analysis and reporting for NCC’s National office and associated business units. The Coordinator, will also play a supporting role in ensuring that donor and grant related requirements are met, and activities are fulfilled. The role will require knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards, data analysis and grant and program administration and the application of the same to transaction level detail and report summarization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting for the financial management, tracking, analysis and reporting for NCC’s National office and associated business units
Recording and validation of journal entries to ensure donor and grant requirements are met and activities completed
Validation of invoices, expense claims and corporate credit card claims submitted for payment.
Ensuring compliance with Business Policies and Procedures
Performing reconciliations of control accounts, accruals and prepayment accounts
Supporting the productions of financial and grant reports
Position Requirements:
Excellent MS Office skills (in particular, the use of Excel)
Experience with Financial Edge, SAP Concur, Raisers Edge and Tenrox preferred
Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards
Experience in the not-for-profit sector is an asset
Completion of relevant college diploma and/or level 1-2 of the CGA program of professional studies or equivalent
A minimum of two years of relevant experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and attention to details
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent time management and prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to understand and analyze voluminous data
Self-motivated and professional
Dependable, honest and ethical
Ability to work well within a team and individually with minimal supervision
Bilingualism (English and French) would be an asset
