Your Role:
Update daily bank positions spreadsheet each morning to support daily financing decisions;
Execute daily transfers and maintain records required for BA purchasing and maturity;
People Soft (general ledger) support and variance/issue analysis;
Financial Reporting and preparing the month-end journal entries;
Drafting monthly consolidated financial reports;
Preparing Income Statement and Balance Sheet variance analysis;
Understanding the month-end close processes and adding value by recommending improvements; and
Corporate account reconciliations;
Reviewing the general ledger to prepare reconciliations and investigating variances identified;
Quarter-end – preparing quarterly reports and analysis to support the publicly disclosed consolidated Financial Statements and Management Discussion & Analysis
Support the CEO and CFO Sub-Certification process;
Initiate and obtain necessary approvals for corporate cash movements (i.e. payment of monthly admin fees, dividends, interest on all debt instruments, daily wire transfers, etc.);
Prepare monthly Fixed Asset accounting reconciliations;
Prepare the monthly adjustments and reconciliations required for leasing agreements; and
Ensure right-of-use assets and lease liabilities are accounted for in accordance with IFRS.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Post-secondary business education, undergrad Bachelor of Commerce and working towards or anticipated enrollment in the CPA program;
Experience using Microsoft Office products with advanced knowledge of Excel;
Must be detail conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy;
Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks while working within strict timelines.; and
Experience with PeopleSoft is considered an asset.
