What You Will Do
The Project Manager leads the planning and delivery of strategic projects/initiatives related to TOH’s Emergency Preparedness/ Management Department, coordinates the delivery of assigned projects tasks, and ensures delivery within scope, budget, and requirements.
Below are the main job requirements and responsibilities for the Project Manager:
- Manages several projects and initiatives within the assigned portfolio, supporting a culture of innovation and data-informed decision-making at the Hospital.
- The projects involve a heavy amount of engagement and collaboration with project teams, management team, senior leaders, physicians across The Ottawa Hospital, Ottawa Hospital
- Research Institute, University of Ottawa Heart Institute and external stakeholders.
- Acts as the resource person for various Committees associated with the project and is responsible for stakeholder engagement, workplan development, ensuring that milestones are met and that the project are achieving their objectives.
- Develops project strategies, frameworks and recommendations based on a strong understanding of evaluation principles.
- Act as Subject matter Expert related to Operational strategies, and regulatory compliance related to Acts, Standards, and Industry best practices for the program.
- Act as a resource to execute the program’s operational mandates.
What You Will Bring
- 4-year Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare discipline, Emergency/Disaster Management, Business Continuitty/Disaster Recovery;
- A minimum of five (5) years recent experience in project management implementing quality improvement strategies and change management;
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience guiding project teams;
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in PMP/Prince 2, ICS/IMS 300 &400, Certified Business Continuity Professional;
- Strong knowledge base of hospital operations;
- Strong experience of managing strategic projects, championing change and adaptability to changing environment;
- Understanding of program planning principles, design development process and operational readiness principles;
- Ability to build strong relationships with project teams, business stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership team;
- Experience with preparing and delivering presentations, with report writing, writing briefing notes for Senior Management and with implementing and evaluating business plans;
- Advanced proficiency with computer applications: Microsoft Office applications in particular – MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, along with ability to quickly learn new applications;
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with project stakeholders and to manage client relationships and expectations;
- Ability to implement, facilitate, lead change, and to propose process improvements and value-added initiatives;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, combined with excellent organizational skills to include the ability to chair and facilitate meetings with stakeholders.
You will stand out with:
- A Master’s degree iin Disaster Management, Crisis Management and Business Continuity, Risk Management;
- Five (5) years of experience in NFPA fire investigation, Hazmat and Life Support;
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
