Work Description

In this hands-on role, the Accounting Clerk (summer student) will assist the Property Accountants and Assistant Controller, performing various administrative accounting tasks on a timely and accurate basis in accordance with company policies and internal controls.

Major Responsibilities:
Accounting Clerk

Maintaining records, scanning and entering into Yardi in a timely, accurate manner

Preparing Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) submissions alongside the Assistant Controller. Compile data for review prior to submission.

Scanning invoices in preparation for 2022 year-end files.

General administrative duties, such as filing, scanning, and copying

Other duties as may arise from time to time

Statement of Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A high school diploma is required for this role. Post-secondary education in accounting, business or finance is considered an asset

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to meet deadlines

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and approach situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.

Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment

Providing service to several people, working under many simultaneous deadlines

Sitting or standing for long periods of time at workstation

Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals

Repetitive work
