Compensation Range

In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range for a job.

Job Summary
Working with the Student Health and Wellbeing unit as part of the Health Equity, Promotion and Education team, the Coordinator, Student Wellness Centres is responsible for supporting student wellbeing and success through health education and/or health promotion initiatives, programs and projects, with the Okanagan Charter for Health Promoting Universities and Colleges as a key guiding framework.
Program development will include designing and delivering evidence-based approaches to support student wellbeing and student leadership and assessing the outcomes of a variety of programs. The Coordinator will support programs and projects that enhance student wellbeing and will work strategically with students, student organizations, and Evening and weekend work may be required, as well as Remote and In Person Work at the Student Wellness Centres. Teamwork and collaboration are essential.
Organizational Status
The Health Equity, Promotion and Education (HEPE) unit facilitates and enhances student learning through health promotion and health education programs, projects and initiatives. Reporting to one of the Health Promotion Specialists or Managers, the Coordinator supervises student staff and student volunteers.

Supports the management of the Student Wellness Centres:
Student leader development to promote student wellbeing
Campus-wide health and wellbeing education

Consequence of Error/Judgement
Decisions have a direct impact on the creation, revision and implementation of Student Health and Wellbeing programs and other peer-based educational support services. Decisions of a poor referral can directly affect students and the operation of Student Health and Wellbeing and impact on academic units across the university and have a direct impact on the quality of students university experience. Poorly managed relationships across the university have a serious impact on the future partnerships for Student Health and Wellbeing.
Supervision Received
This position reports to the Health Promotion Strategist and/or to the unit Director. Position requires a person capable of interpreting the position responsibilities and carrying them out with minimal supervision.

Supervise student employees, interns and/or volunteers.
Minimum Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline. Minimum of one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Experience in a student affairs and/or environment in a University setting
Experience in evaluating program delivery and impact
Experience with volunteer management and supervision.
Experience in evaluating program delivery and impact. Demonstrate outstanding oral and written communication skills and the ability to build rapport with staff, students, faculty, alumni and community partners.
Expertise in one or more student wellness priority areas: mental health, health equity, sexual health, or substance use/prevention.
Knowledge of Student Development, Health Education and Health Promotion theory and best practices.
Expertise and experience in designing and delivering workshops and learning programs in person and online.
Excellent interpersonal skills and cross-cultural sensitivity.
Ability to envision and implement innovative programs and initiatives.
Computer skills including Canvas and Qualtrics, and willingness to learn new systems.
Ability to manage the complexity inherent within a multi -faceted work environment focused on broad outcomes for students.
