Position Description
The Department of Family Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, invites applications for a Contingent term position in health equity at the Associate Professor level.
Qualifications required include a MD, certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada, eligibility for regular licensure in the Province of Alberta. A graduate degree in a related field is a strong asset. The successful candidate will be involved in medical education leadership and research and would participate in teaching at the University of Calgary in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate clinical and academic programs.
Applicants must present evidence of local and national leadership experience in equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (EDIA). A strong portfolio of work in supporting all equity deserving groups and making substantial change in policy, education and our understanding of the role of inclusivity is required. A strong vision for leadership within the Cumming School of Medicine in EDIA is mandatory. Evidence of successful teaching is required. Evidence of collaborations with other researchers and academic engagement in professional and other communities will be assessed. The successful candidate must be able to lead groups, implement change and work closely with all stakeholders within the CSM and beyond.
