How will you make an impact?
As a Calibration Technologist you will perform daily Calibration Services on internal and external customer assets enabling the team to deliver consistently excellent service to our customers.
What will you do:
· Calibrate, adjust, and maintain electrical, thermodynamic, electromechanical, mechanical, and photometric/optical measuring and indicating instruments to conform to set standards.
· Work from verbal and written instructions and information supplemented by technical job knowledge and experience.
· Participate in inter-laboratory comparisons and validation activities.
· Prepare calibration data reports, data sheets, and other required documentation
· Resolve problems through speaking with customers, vendors, and management.
· Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
· Equipment data management.
· Shipping and receiving as needed.
· Backup to Metrology Coordinator when needed.
How will you get here:
Education
Minimum College diploma in a scientific field. Electrical/Electro-mechanical engineering preferred.
Experience
0 -1 year experience in a technology related field; broad range of scientific laboratory experience.
Experience with various computer systems for the analysis of data.
Customer service skills.
Must have had direct calibration experience either in handling, calibrating, or maintaining equipment in a regulated environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Position requires the individual to be capable of self-management.
· Knowledge of computer tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat.
· On site position requires no travel.
· English and/or French position, bilingual is an asset.
Working Conditions:
· Works primarily in the Metrology Lab, in office environment to include cubicles and/or in and around shipping/receiving docks, storage locations and laboratory environments
· Will be required to sit for long periods of time while performing repetitive work,
· May be required to lift 50 lbs
· May be able to use material handling equipment such as push carts and pallet jacks
· Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets and/or safety gloves
· Some areas require steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses
· Ability to work hours as required to get the job done.
