Position Summary
Reporting to the I.T. Manager, the Systems Administrator’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer infrastructure and cloud services. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve data center hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
Salary Range $61,000 to $74,000
Strategy and Planning
Assist with network and data center design and capacity planning
Implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use
Participate in review of disaster recovery procedures
Deployment
Installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of data center hardware, software, and cloud services
Operational Management
Manage assigned servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software
Manage all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPSs
Ensure network connectivity of all workstations
Administer designated equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
Perform system backups and recovery
Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
Act as an escalation point for advanced or complex service requests
Record, track and document the service desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution

Formal Education & Certification
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience
Hold or working towards the following certifications: A+, Network+, MCITP, CCNA
Knowledge & Experience
Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Windows Server 08/12/16/19, Windows 7/10/11, Linux and various Firewall technologies
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, RAID, VOIP, SAN, RDS, Active Directory, and SD-WAN
vSphere/vCenter Experience
Experience with Server based applications such as Exchange, Asterisk, AirWatch MDM, MS-SQL
Experience managing M365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, End-Point Manager)
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices

Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings
Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy
