Tillsonburg Medical Clinic Looking for Medical Office Assistant at Tillsonburg, ON Full Time

Our team is looking for an experienced Medical Office Assistant.

You will be working closely with three family physicians, a chiropodist, and other clinical and administrative staff in a very busy medical office environment.

The position includes both clinical and administrative duties.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mature, reliable and experienced MOA who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Hours are scheduled Monday to Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm. Occasional nights (5- 8 pm) and Saturday mornings (9 – 12 noon) will be required.

This position is part-time and will average 16-32 hours per week plus scheduled vacation time coverage.

Starting Salary: $17.50

Responsibilities:

• Patient registration
• Preparing examination rooms
• Coordinating the flow of patients in the examination and treatment areas
• Patient preparation, including but not limited to, measuring vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, height, weight, and accurately recording information in the patient’s chart
• Specimen collection and processing
• Assisting physicians with procedures
• Processing incoming and outgoing faxes
• Patient referrals and diagnostic bookings
• Handling incoming and outgoing mail
• Processing patient and third party payments
• Complete third party forms & correspondence
• Other administrative and clinical duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Completion of a Medical Office Assistant program is mandatory. Consideration will be given to a PSW with medical office experience.

• Preference will be given to applicants with minimum 2 years experience in a medical office. This is NOT an entry-level position.
• Proficient knowledge of an Electronic Medical Records system (experience with PS Suites is an asset)
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology and accurate spelling is essential
• Ability to multi task and prioritize in a fast paced team environment
• Superior time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail is required
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Completion of the injection course is a definite asset
• Proof of COVID vaccination is required.
