Timiskaming First Nation Looking for Education Support Services Administrator at Notre-dame-du-nord, QC Full Time

Summary
Reporting to the Education Director, the Education Support Services Administrator will be responsible for many aspects of TFN educational programs and services.

Roles & Responsibilities:

– Process and maintain accurate accountability for inquiries
– Ensure funding application packages are available
– Prepare and submit sponsorship letters
– Financial accountability (ensure that tuition invoices are processed, post-secondary student
allowance is processed according to schedule, etc.)
– Ensure that post-secondary student files, to which assigned, have all current information and
are kept accurate and up-to-date
– Ensure a tracking mechanism is in place to monitor post-secondary student progress, including
visits throughout the academic year (travel will be required)
– Keep post-secondary students informed of changes to policy or program
– Build relationships with Indigenous supports at commonly frequented colleges/universities (travel
will be required)

– Manage all aspects of bus driver hiring and placement
– Ensure bus drivers carry proper licensing and certification
– Manage bus schedules, whether school- or charter-related, and ensure proper permits are in
place and kept up-to-date

Other duties:

• Seek summer student employment opportunities
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with ISC, funding agencies and postsecondary

institutions

• Process and maintain accurate accountability for registrations, enrolments, tuition transfers, student

records and incentive programs

• Advocate for all aspects of TFN education programs and services in the best interest of students
• Actively seek out scholarship/bursary opportunities for our students

Requirements

• Post-secondary education and/or combination of training and experience
• Professional interpersonal skills
• Strong knowledge of First Nation and provincial post-secondary education systems
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
• Administration and education office environment experience
• Comprehensive correspondence skills
• Proficient in WORD and EXCEL programs
• Results- and goal-orientated
• Knowledge of Algonquin culture; French language would be an asset
• Valid driver’s license (access to vehicle)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $21.92-$25.98 per hour
