Thanks for checking out our posting!
You are looking for a fresh start….are YOU the person that WE are looking for to complete our little office team in our busy insurance office, here in the town of LaSalle, Ontario?
Are you looking for a career? Are you ready to be a part of a small dynamic team?
Are you interested in coming to work everyday and bringing a positive attitude and working with like minded individuals? Do you love to talk to people and look for ways to help them?
This is an opportunity for the right person(s) to join our team and become a part of our “work family”.
We are hiring for two separate positions….
One is “front desk” reception at it’s core and one is “office sales” at its core.
Both positions will require an insurance license (which we will help you get) but NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, and there is a ton of cross-over work that exists between the two positions. We can get you trained and licensed, so keep reading…. : )
The core role of FRONT DESK is to manage the front desk and act as a central hub of the agency. This is a busy office. The person who takes this position will answer the phones, be a first point greeter to clients coming into the office.
This person will handle incoming traffic, take payments, and reroute clients/prospective clients accordingly within the office. This person will learn about insurance coverages and prices and work through policy changes and updates with existing clients.
This employee has strong math skills and will be a billing expert in the office. It will be the expectation that this person makes documented follow-ups to connect with existing clients on missed payments in an effort to conserve their business and keep their policies active, thereby supporting the goal of the agency to grow.
Depending on what the office is focusing on, this person will be expected to mirror the direction of the team and work collectively to help achieve agency goals, in supporting functions as rolled out by the agent.
This job may include outbound marketing calls (cold calls) in an effort to generate quote opportunities with prospective clients. Booking appointments and trying to get people into the office will be a part of this role.
Outbound calls to existing clients will be expected in an effort to support the roles of the other agents in the office.
Preparation of marketing materials, stationary, office programs, etc, will be a core task of this role.
The office “SALES” position will include crossover of everything listed above and this person will focus on networking and selling insurance to new clients. The successful candidate will be able to generate their own leads through center of influences and leads that exist within the office already. This is a GOAL-focused position and the sky is the limit when it comes to earning potential. This candidate will acquire their Life Insurance license within 3 months of hire date in order for this position to be permanent.
Both positions:
The ideal candidate(s) will have strong multi-tasking and organizational skills. This person will be extremely outgoing and engaging.
Ability to speak English fluently and comfortably through email and phones is essential. Excellent grammar and spelling are required. The expectation is that the function of these roles is to be high energy and friendly in all interactions.
It will be an expectation that a general insurance license be obtained prior to hire or within 3 months of hire in order to make the position permanent. The office will assist in coordinating training materials and facilitating exam. Once general insurance (Other than Life) license is obtained, this role will incorporate all of the above functions and will expand to include processing simple transactions, confirm coverages, claims concierge (connecting clients with claims), giving price updates and high level clarification on coverages.
Candidates who already have an active Other Than Life or RIBO (convertible to OTL) may be preferred but this is not mandatory. Agent will pay all costs for study and licensing requirements, upon successful completion of the exam.
Please note that this is not intended to be an all inclusive list of job duties, but has been created to provide clarity to applicant about the job.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to be eligible for this position, for a Desjardins Agency Team Member Agreement, and potentially to obtain an Ontario insurance license(s), successful candidate must clear a series of background checks including credit report (you must have a credit score above 650 — THIS IS A DEAL BREAKER FOR LICENSING), motor vehicle record, and criminal background. Please note that a bankruptcy, consumer proposal, low credit score, serious driving charge, etc, will make you ineligible. High School diploma is required.
