Torn Banner studios recently launched Chivalry 2, the sequel to our multi-million copy selling original. We are a small independent video game studio of around 60 developers in Toronto and we love creating innovative new experiences that focus on challenge and fun.
The ideal candidate would have past experience managing the financials for a fast-growing company, as well as a keen interest in developing and improving systems. They must be a team player, that takes pride in supporting others to do their best work.
This role will provide support in the following areas:
Financial
Oversee the budget and expenses of each department
Research new innovative ways to improve the business model through technology and resources
Detect wastage and improve efficiency.
Be the main point of contact for third-party accounting and payroll team
Track and maintain invoices
Be a wagepoint expert
Grants, government, and audit first point of contact
File Keeping
House all the incoming agreements, invoices, and documents.
Monthly Financials
dealing with company/staff insurance policies, pension schemes, and share issues
Office Admin
Help with ordering and tracking studio equipment (anything that costs $$)
Manage vendor contracts and relationships
License renewal management
preparing reports, letters, and presentations as needed.
Oversee day-to-day business activities
Requirements
3-5 years experience in a finance role.
Experience owning budgets, vendor/client relationships, and invoices.
Experience providing financial reports to senior leadership.
Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Problem-solving skills.
Strong initiative, self-driven, self-starter.
Bonus:
Degree or diploma in finance, accounting, business, or a comparable equivalent.
Experience with Google Suite and wagepoint.
Experience with government grants.
Experience with audits.
