About TRCA:
With more than 60 years of experience, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is one of 36 Conservation Authorities in Ontario, created to safeguard and enhance the health and well-being of watershed communities through the protection and restoration of the natural environment and the ecological services the environment provides.
TRCA is considered the provincial leader in conserving, restoring, and managing natural resources to advance safe and sustainable development.
How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:
TRCA’s Strategic Plan recognizes the need to accelerate urban retrofits as a critical component of building a resilient, sustainable Living City Region. To achieve this vision, TRCA’s Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program (SNAP) takes a collaborative, neighbourhood-based approach to identify strategic local actions in the public and private realm, overcome challenges and build leadership capacity for implementation.
This position plays an integral role in the SNAP Program by implementing neighbourhood-based projects and programs across public and private land, including apartment tower/multi-unit residential revitalization, residential home retrofits, park renewal, and streetscape transformation. The Coordinator will be the public face of the program and will interact with municipal stakeholders, residents, businesses, non-government organizations, and community groups.
Under guidance of the Project Manager, SNAP Projects, key aspects of this role include engagement of stakeholders from across sectors and coordination of design, implementation, and tracking of projects and programs in: urban agriculture, green infrastructure, climate mitigation, stormwater management, healthy active living, as well as community resilience and adaptation measures. Working in close collaboration with the Project Manager, SNAP Projects, the Coordinator also carries out duties that contribute to the development and implementation of other aspects of neighbourhood-based urban retrofit plans.
