Job Description

The Academic Department at TBC is seeking to hire an Academic Scheduling and Recruiting Coordinator to maintain a strong sense of organization with program faculty, coordinators, and other college departments. The incumbent will conduct interviews and monitor the ongoing recruitment process of faculty by updating the recruitment file with relevant information provided by candidates. The successful candidate will bring experience in post-secondary education and HR along with an eagerness to explore new strategies, be positive, academically-oriented, and dedicated. possess a high degree of integrity, collaborate well with a passionate team, be accurate and organized, be passionate about education, faculty success, and international student success.

Responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate faculty recruitment and onboarding to ensure an efficient, rigorous, and carefully executed process is in place and followed.
• Collaborate closely with Student Success to arrange tutors for the tutoring centre, the Career Centre for faculty advisors.
• Interview candidates for teaching positions and evaluate their credentials.
• Maintain faculty database for hiring and scheduling.
• Promote collaboration between the Academic and Student Services, Registration, Career Services, and other college departments.
• Constantly strive to improve faculty satisfaction and the quality of learning, campus experience, and retention.
• Coordinate incoming emails, phone calls, and feedback from faculty about college offerings and support systems.
• Coordinate faculty training sessions and onboarding.
• Demonstrate passion for delivering excellent service with a commitment to faculty and student satisfaction and success.
• Understand the support systems that exist in higher learning institutions and how these systems work collaboratively to support students.
• Become familiar with, and ensure implementation of college policies and procedures by all faculty and departmental staff.
• Periodic implementation and review of Student Perception of Learning surveys, faculty performance reviews, classroom observations, program audits, etc.
• Promote a strong sense of Quality Assurance, taking active steps in following the QA standards set forth by the College.
• Reinforce an organizational culture that understands the challenges and barriers to success that international students face.
• Understand that some overtime, evenings and weekends may be required to ensure our students receive an outstanding education.

Requirements:

• 3 years or more of experience at an academic or HR administrator’s level working in a post-secondary institution.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in a relevant field.
• Excellent communication skills. Emotional Intelligence to enable positive motivation while setting high standards and expectations from the team.
• Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytic and organizational skills, with experience using Excel and other software a definite asset.
• Be able to set priorities, strategic goals and achieve them within the agreed upon timeline.
• Understanding of international student needs and issues.
• Knowledge of Moodle an asset.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Police Record Check and Vulnerable Record Check.
