Reporting to the Chief Building Official, this position will provide administrative support to the Chief Building Official, Building Inspectors and Permit Administrators. The role is also responsible for assisting with the preparation of council reports, scheduling inspections, collecting building permit fees and assisting with assessing any applicable fees and securities as well as issuing receipts to permit applicants for collected fees and updating and maintaining the data/records management.
The successful candidate will have post-secondary education in business administration with prior experience in customer service/building office environments. The individual will be able to communicate effectively, professionally and courteously with all levels of staff, external contacts and the general public and be productive in a team environment. Candidates must be able to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees and the general public. Preferred candidates can demonstrate excellent project/time/records management and organizational skills. In addition, the successful candidate must have demonstrated proficiency with information technology including financial software and Microsoft Office and familiarity with Municipal policies/procedures. In addition, a criminal record check will be required upon hire and candidates must be able to provide proof confirming receipt of the full series of a Covid-19 vaccine as a condition of hire in accordance with the Town’s mandatory vaccination policy.
The position offers a salary range of $47,822 to $59,777 (2022 rates) plus a competitive benefit package and an option for flexible work arrangements.
