The Role
The Customer Care Representative is often the customer’s primary point of contact for the Town of High River. This position exemplifies the Town’s courteous and friendly manner, while focusing on customer service excellence. The incumbent’s knowledge of the Town and Town operations is critical to maintain a positive image for the Town.
Establishing and maintaining a close and effective working relationship with all Town of High River employees is essential. A large focus of this role is providing superior customer service to internal and external customers, in alignment with the Town’s cultural pillars of Accountability, Excellence and Connection.
The Customer Care Representative will receive and respond to questions and complaints both by phone, in person and via e-mail referring them to the correct department for detailed information and be eager to stay current with information on activities in the community and on Town by-laws and related operations, procedures and policies. This position is responsible for receiving payments for taxes, utilities and other Town charges as well as, performing related data entry, receipting, daily cash balancing and ensure all cash, cheques, records and permits, licenses and certificates are processed with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.
The successful applicant must have a Grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent, computer knowledge, and must be able to handle stressful and sometimes difficult situations. The successful applicant will have exceptional customer service skills and excellent communication skills.
