Financial Analyst
The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Financial Analyst in the Financial Services Department.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Deputy Treasurer, the Financial Analyst is an experienced finance professional with exceptional time management, communication skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail. Reporting to one of the Deputy Treasurers, the Financial Analyst provides support for strategic financial tasks and processes, based on policy, best practice and financial principles.
Qualifications And Requirements
The successful candidate will have a University Degree in Business Administration (Accounting or Finance) or related field combined with three (3) years of experience preferably in a municipal finance related field, or a College Diploma in Business-Accounting combined with a minimum five (5) years of experience preferably in a municipal finance related field. Candidates with a professional designation in accounting (i.e. CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or MBA is considered an asset. The preferred candidate will have an understanding and experience using a capital asset policy framework combined with the knowledge of, and experience with, Canadian Institute of Charter Accountants (CICA) and/or PSAB in a public or private organization involving fixed asset accounting, interpreting and applying accounting standards and financial reporting.
The ideal candidate will have advanced computer and technical skills including experience with financial system software and knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates must be proficient in developing and using financial models and spreadsheets; ability to analyze and interpret financial/statistical information and identify and resolve financial problems. In addition, the ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational skills; work independently and will have excellent oral and written communication skills. Previous experience with Vadim iCity Enterprise financial software, RAC Software Inc., FMW Web and ActiveNet software is an asset.

Salary
The Town offers an hourly rate of $47.44 (2024), in accordance with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 702.2. This position is subject to a probationary period of sixty (60) days of work.
