The Township of Langley is currently recruiting for a regular full-time Foreman II to join our team of professionals in the Engineering Division, Stormwater Department. Reporting to the Stormwater Manager, in this unionized position you will apply your knowledge and experience in stormwater to coordinate, direct and inspect work related to all aspects of stormwater operations.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, assign, supervise and inspect the work of a crew involved in stormwater operations and ensure safe work practices according to municipal and WorkSafe standards
• Direct the work of traffic control personnel, truck drivers, equipment operators and contractors
• Coordinate and inspect work performed by contractors and hired equipment operators
• Coordinate contract service calls and repairs, and arrange for emergency service as required
• Schedule equipment, contractors and labour for stormwater operations and maintain a record of activities
• Provide time, equipment and cost estimates for maintenance, repairs and new installations
• Perform related work as required

Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by technical courses and training, plus considerable related experience, including supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in stormwater construction and of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
• Sound knowledge of environmental, public safety and health regulations as it relates to stormwater operations
• Ability to coordinate and supervise the work of employees, contractors and hired equipment operators
• Ability to read engineering drawings and estimate the time and materials required for the work
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal/external contacts, contractors and the public

• BC Class 3 with Air Brake Endorsement Driver’s License. The CUPE rate of pay for this position is $34.48 – $36.68 per hour (3 steps, 2020 rates) plus benefits. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm.
