Transdev is now hiring Red Seal Heavy Duty and Commercial Transport mechanics for our Kelowna, British Columbia location! We are seeking permanent, full-time mechanics. We are also offering a competitive hourly rate starting at $43.20/hr, which goes up to $44.50/hr after 9 months of work!
Your Role
- Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment service and repair under minimal supervision. Repairs include brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
- Remove, overhaul and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision.
- Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections and annual maintenance inspections.
- Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately. Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
- Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
- Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
- Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Adhere to Transdev’s standards, policies and procedures.
- Moves vehicles safely between job and work area.
- Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.

Your Profile
- Red Seal Heavy Duty and Commercial Transport certification is preferred (Automotive and apprentice mechanics can also apply).
- Must hold Authorized Inspector License with BC CVSE, or equivalent, or obtain within 3 months of hire.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license required; Air endorsement required; Must be able to obtain Class 2 license within 3 months of hire.
- You have an appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
- You adhere to provincial CVSE standards and the Federal Motor Vehicle Act.
- You have advanced problem-solving ability.
- You have advanced computer skills.
- You are able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- You are able to work assigned shifts.
Your location:
- This is a unionzied position in Kelowna, BC.
- The work schedule is a 10-hour shift, 4 days on, 3 days off.
