Position Overview:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Officer of Academic Quality Assurance is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, optimizing, and improving the quality assurance system. The Officer ensures compliance with academic standards and all internal and external requirements to sustain and advance program delivery and student success.

Work Schedule:

• Hybrid work This position will be expected to work on-campus a minimum of 2 days per week or as required based on business needs.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Ensure that academic policies and quality assurance procedures are communicated, comprehended, implemented, and followed by staff and faculty.
• Monitor, evaluate, and document all programs, courses, and associated academic data and records essential for implementing the quality assurance system, procedures, policies, and compliance with external legal requirements.
• Establish, maintain, and administer an effective electronic file management system to record and report on academic data of programs and courses.
• Produce clear, concise, accurate, and comprehensive reports on the quality and effectiveness of programs and institution-wide processes to support raising academic standards, program performance, and informed decision-making.
• Develop guidelines, templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures for quality assurance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support and assist academic leaders and program coordinators with data and records management and program audits, including data reporting and program performance analysis.
• Provide support in institutional self-evaluation activities for quality enhancement and external audits.
• Collaborate with the academic leaders to develop improvement plans in response to audits and monitor their implementation and effectiveness.
• Develop and deliver training modules for faculty on academic policies and quality assurance procedures. Offer guidance and support as required.
• Work closely with the faculty members and leaders to develop and implement quality assurance initiatives and practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, business or management, engineering or computer science, social sciences, or related field.
• Minimum four years of experience, two directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above in an academic institution.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of quality assurance processes in academic institutions. Familiarity with systems and methods of external program reviews and accreditation is desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting compliance and quality assurance in an academic institution.
• Proficiency in developing workflows and templates using software such as SharePoint or PowerApps.
• Knowledge of Learning Management Systems such as Canvas and Student Information Systems is desirable.
• Proficiency in file management and data organization systems.
• Experience and interest in policy development in higher education is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively with various constituencies in a diverse academic community.
• Ability to work independently and with various departments and personnel, managing and prioritizing multiple projects with the understanding of broader department and college goals and the context of these projects.
