The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director, Human Resources and is directly responsible for overseeing the HR function at our production facility in Delta, British Columbia. The Delta facility is a mid-sized, 150+ employee non-union facility that produces private label tea. This position will lead and provide support to a team of two, partner closely with the Plant Manager, and serve as a critical member of the Delta Plant Steering Team to guide the day-to-day success of the facility. The Human Resources Manager will provide leadership and direction for recommending, implementing and supporting positive employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale. This position will also carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: workforce planning, talent development, full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, HR program development and implementation, change management, employee relations, performance management, employment law and compliance, and HR analytics.

Roles & Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Plant Steering Team, provides sound advice and coaching to department managers on all HR related areas that impact the plant
Enhance functional competence and business acumen of the local HR team
Provide coaching to HR team members and foster a continuous learning environment
Manages employee relations, providing direction and counsel regarding human resources tools and processes
Conducts investigations and maintains corrective action procedures; ensuring effective application and administration of plant policies
Evaluates the key business conditions and objectives of the site and funnels into the HR department’s strategic direction and priorities. Partners closely with steering team members to support functional priorities with strategic workforce planning and HR programs
Builds effective relationships with operational departments (Quality Assurance, Warehousing, Operations, Continuous Improvement, and Health & Safety) to understand their business goals and proactively identify and implement solutions that align with organizational strategies
Manages multiple requisitions concurrently and takes accountability for recruitment delivery targets
Leads talent management programs, including performance review cycle tracking, individual development plans, and succession planning
Coordinates and facilitates onboarding programs
Identifies opportunities to optimize business processes in Workday (HRIS) to create efficiencies for the HR team
Ensures the facility compliant with all federal and provincial statues
Analyzes HR data for the purpose of identifying trends and preparing HR plans (i.e. performance management, predictive absenteeism, employee retention, etc.)
Participates in HR program development at the site, and participates in broader HR projects as required
Accessible to all production shifts, as needed
Demonstrates tact and diplomacy and maintains discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee data
Skills, Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or business related field preferred
3-5 years of experience in Human Resources
Manufacturing experience highly preferred
Bi-lingual in Punjabi highly desirable
Must have a desire to walk the shop floor
Curiosity and drive to learn the key factors that drive our success in safely delivering quality product at a competitive cost
Experience and aptitude with HRIS, preferably with Workday
Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
Strong customer service, relationship building, problem solving and follow-up skills
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Thorough knowledge of current trends and issues in Human Resources Management
