Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and hard-working Payroll/Benefits Coordinator for a full-time position in our Head Office in Pickering. You will be part of a dynamic Human Resources team, reporting to the Compensation Supervisor. You will interact with internal employees at varying levels in order to answer inquiries and process payroll in a timely manner. This position will also be responsible for providing backup Reception coverage on a daily basis to relieve receptionist for breaks, lunch, vacations and other time away from Reception.

Position Responsibilities

• Processing timesheets in UKG;
• Vacation administration;
• Terminating & transferring employees;
• Processing payroll chargebacks;
• New hire orientation;
• Benefits Administration
• Archiving/filing; and
• Other Human Resources duties as required/assigned.

Reception Back-up

• Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls;
• Providing information and taking messages;
• Courier packages;
• Sorting mail;
• Other Reception duties as required/assigned.

Scheduling

• Full-time
• Flex-Hours Monday to Friday

Required Skills and Experience

• Payroll and HRIS Software;
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills;
• PCP Designation and asset;
• Construction Industry payroll processing an asset;
• Experience with union reporting an asset;
• UKG software knowledge an asset
• Personable and friendly with the ability to handle conflict management;
• Self-starter, minimal supervision;
• Detail oriented;
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure; and
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
