Job Description
Tricon Residential is seeking a Human Resources Manager for a 12 month contract to join its Toronto team. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for creating an exceptional candidate experience and an internal culture where employees bring their best selves to work, encouraging them to create enriching experiences for their internal and external customers. They will be responsible for implementing HR programs and policies to ensure that the Tricon Residential team is trained, engaged, productive and rewarded appropriately. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be a self-starter and have a passion for providing exceptional experiences.
Create a compelling and exciting story to which our candidate population can relate to enticing candidates in wanting to join Tricon
Design a candidate experience that aligns with the Tricon Residential resident brand and culture
Work closely with managers to gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s hiring requirements for each position, and meet competitive hiring goals and expectations
Manage the full recruiting lifecycle assisting management to find, hire, and retain quality talent
Source a pipeline of candidates for current and future roles through networking, ad placements, participation in industry or organizational groups
Conduct behaviorally based interviews, using structured questions, and behavioral assessment tools, such as Predictive Index, to secure the best candidates
Prepare all offers and new hire packages
Conduct new hire orientation and on-boarding programs to properly introduce new employees to the corporate culture
Administer employee referral program
Employee Relations
Create/update Employee Handbook and policies & procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
Conduct employee relations counseling and provide guidance to leaders regarding performance management
Effectively investigate and resolve all employee issues/ disciplinary actions that arise in conjunction with the functional manager and Director, Employee Relations
Identify and manage employment related risks, including litigation and investigations in accordance with government regulations and company policy
Administer quarterly performance management program focused on delivering exceptional results and tied to quarterly goals process
Program focused on having a greater organizational impact and enhanced employee engagement
Conduct all terminations, create severance agreements and resolve any claims
Administer employee recognition programs
Facilitate employee and community partnership events
Learning & Development
Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching/development and inspiration
In conjunction with Corporate Learning & Development, create and deliver training programs around soft skills and technical skills
Routinely train on Standards of Service
Coordinate Management Development training
Total Rewards-Compensation & Benefits
Be integral contributor to Workday HCM implementation
Create job descriptions and ensure positions are slotted appropriately for the market percentile target
Deliver compensation and benefit reports to the leadership team to ensure the compensation philosophy is consistent
Administer annual salary review process including market studies for promotions, adjustments and merit increases
Design and implement incentive reward plans, in conjunction with Sr. Director, Total Rewards, that drive productivity
Coordinate with brokers to offer competitive health insurance packages
Administer all LOA’s
Review carrier invoices for accuracy
Administer Worker’s Compensation and Safety programs
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
Minimum 8-10 years of related HR experience
CHRP or CHRL designation
Experience with Workday HCM preferred
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
Advanced knowledge of MS Office, database management, and internet search
Familiarity with job boards, and HR software, databases, and management systems
Proven experience conducting various types of interviews (i.e., phone, video, etc.)
