Position Overview
- This role will report to the Manager, People Retention where they will develop retention strategies, programs and services that are focused on people experience to support stabilization of the THP workforce, and promote the resilience, DEI (diversity, equity & inclusion) and wellbeing of our people;
- Support employee engagement by creating strategies and action plans that drive retention at both the organizational and unit level;
- Enable and promote recognition initiatives that support organizational culture, DEI, wellness and performance;
- Support the development of an Employee Value Proposition to attract and retain diverse talent;
- Provide trusted consultation and advice to internal partners not limited to people services division, leaders and staff on complex retention challenges;
- Engage, communicate and build partnerships with key partners across the hospital including staff, leaders, union partners, employee counsels and external clients on an ongoing basis to inform the development of retention and engagement strategies;
- Support the development of programs to deliver innovative approaches to maximizing retention, including stay and exit interviews, to support leaders in creating positive employee experiences;
- Monitor and report on trends, regulations and technologies that support retention, engagement & wellbeing;
- Implement processes and practices to ensure project objectives are being met and successfully achieving the project’s goals;
- Develop track and analyze performance indicators and trends to support the identification of risks and mitigation strategies.

- Human Resources, Talent Management and/or Organizational Development experience in a hospital setting preferred;
- Relevant post-secondary degree/diploma in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or equivalent experience preferred;
- Experience with project management processes and best practices is an asset;
- Strong technical skills in PowerPoint and Excel;
- Broad understanding of human resource management, and retention best practices, principles and relevant legislation;
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective and comprehensive reports and presentations for various audiences;
- Experience embracing inclusive and diverse perspectives that align with the hospital’s values;
- Relationship building skills with experience in partnering, influencing, and creating credibility with partners;
- Knowledge of current health care issues and trends is an asset;
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of leveraging the data to build out proactive retention and wellbeing strategies
We offer employees, in roles that are conducive to remote work, the flexibility and the right mix of remote and in-office work (approximately 80/20). Acknowledging that the primary works space will be remote work from home, but there will be times when on-site presence is appropriate just as there will be times when on-site presence may not be possible.
The expectation is that remote work locations, as part of the Flex First program, will be in the employee’s place of residence, and adhere to all THP policies and procedures, with special consideration towards privacy. Since employees should be available to return to the workplace with 24 hours’ notice, remote work outside of the province or country is not acceptable.
