The Role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition & Strategy, the Talent Acquisition Specialist works with a team and is engaged in the planning, organizing, conducting, implementing, and evaluating talent acquisition and related activities both nationally and regionally.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide support to HR Advisors in the acquisition of quality talents for stores, warehouse, and central food production facilities
Monitor hiring needs; propose, plan, and implement advertising strategies within budgets; research, negotiate, and maintain appropriate advertising channels to reach targeted applicants; ensure high ROI; coordinate with internal and external parties for production and posting of recruitment advertising
Support employer branding and administer recruitment marketing, including social media, internet, and on sites
Provide support or engage in throughout entire recruitment cycle, from discussing manpower needs and collecting staff requisitions, through recruitment strategies formulation, creating and posting job ads, review and screening applicants, referring suitable applicants for interviews and follow up, background and reference check, to making offers, preparing employment contracts and related documentations, and conducting onboarding/orientation
Plan, coordinate, and participate in job fairs and career talks, in house or in collaboration with external parties
Answer job enquiries received from various channels courteously and promptly
Collect and maintain all recruitment and related documentations
Perform any other duties and participate in projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, or related disciplines
At least 3 years of work experience in talent acquisition or recruitment marketing, preferably in retail/grocery industry; some experience in other human resources management functions is a definite advantage
Hands-on experience with social media advertising and promotion
Good knowledge of BC and Alberta Employment Standards Acts and Human Rights Acts; some knowledge in other related legislations is an asset
Excellent communication skills both written and spoken; knowledge of Chinese highly preferred; able to demonstrate patience and active listening in handling job related enquiries and providing consultation to all stakeholders
Possess strong passion in a human resources management career; proactive, able to multi-tasks and follow up with minimum supervision; able to meet deadlines
A good team player; works well with people from all walks of life
Excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills (Words, Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint)
