Job Title: TuxMat Car Mat Designer
We are a Canadian company specializing in custom-fit car mats in the North American market. TuxMat exists to provide our customers with all-weather car mats made specifically for each vehicle, providing maximum coverage and protection to the vehicles’ carpeted interior.
We are currently seeking an Industrial/Product Designer to join our growing team. This position under the Product team is responsible for working with the design and development team to assist the overall effort of completing various project phases, including 3D Scanning vehicles, product testing, car mat design, and product photography. The ideal candidate has a background in design & development, with strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Having any car knowledge is considered an asset.

Skills & Attributes
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Actively participates in brainstorming, team meetings, understands team objectives and anticipates needs
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with expert skills in Illustrator & Photoshop
- 3D modeling in Solidworks, Rendering experience
- A keen eye for aesthetics and detail oriented
- Proactive, self-starter with willingness to take ownership and responsibility
Duties
- Develop new features/designs/patterns and profiles for TuxMat
- Prepare product drawings for oversea vendors to develop and sample
- Review product prototype samples for fit form and function
- Photography and editing skills
- Identifying the suitability and availability of materials
- Producing detailed, final drawings and specifications for approval
Experience
- 1+ year(s) of previous experience of design-related duties with a proven track record
- Have a solid understanding of good design principles
- Organized, thorough and able to prioritize
- Self/project management
- Multi-disciplinary designer with 2D and 3D design experience
- Strong portfolio required
