TWD is currently seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to support our ongoing projects with clients in Alberta. TWD is open to candidates from either Calgary or Edmonton to fill this position.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate a strong fundamental knowledge of and Instrumentation Engineering codes and standards
Generating Instrumentation and Controls construction work packages and specifications
Selection and Specification of instrumentation such pressure, flow and temperature gauges and transmitters, flowmeters, flow and pressure control valves, PSV’s, level gauges and transmitters, etc. Create instrument data sheets.
Selection of instruments cables, glands, trays, and conduits to industry and client specifications.
Ability to interpret, understand, and write control narratives to support PLC/DCS/HMI programming changes.
Create instrument I/O lists, cause and effect diagrams, alarm tables, etc.
Generate and Modify instrument loop drawings and PLCDCS wiring diagrams
Have a working knowledge of various communication protocols used in modern instrumentation.
Site visits and investigations at client locations
Ensure all engineered solutions can be implemented safely and will perform in a safe manner
Understanding of instrument SIL ratings and required wiring/programming
Ability to interpret and modify P&ID’s to clearly show instrument symbols, alarms, displays and interlocks according to industry standards and client specifications.
Support business development as part of the seller doer program.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Engineering (or related discipline)
Registered Professional Engineer in Alberta (APEGA) or EIT eligible for application for P.Eng.
A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in an EPCM or Owner/Operator environment
Experience with the application of the Canadian Electrical Code, API, IEEE and ANSI standards in engineering design
Effective communication skills, and have the ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is an asset)
Working knowledge of the following is an asset.
