About Ultimate Coders
Ultimate Coders has created a unique, game-based curriculum and system to meet the needs of the parents while keeping the children engaged in the learning process. Our mission is to deliver superior quality coding education to children.
More than 65% of young people will work in jobs that don’t exist yet— robotics, artificial intelligence and analyze big data. To succeed in careers across industries, all students need a solid foundation in computer science skills and experience using technology today. Ultimate Coders’ helps to ensure that every student has access to the collaborative, coding, and technical skills that unlock opportunities in the classroom and beyond–no matter what their future goals may be. Our vision is to improve students’ confidence and abilities and promote their success and desire for excellence in school and in life.
Responsibilities include:
- Training – go through the curriculum and learn it
- Teach a class of up to six students
- Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow
- Work with children to determine skill sets
- Be punctual
- Provide feedback to parents after working with a student who is there for assessment
- Follow opening/closing duties daily
Required Skills
We are looking for skills in the following areas. The more you know the better. However, the willingness and capacity to learn is even more important than how much you already know. You should have great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Python
- Scratch
- Basic Robotics (Wonder Workshop Dash and Dot)
- Web development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- Electronics (Raspberry Pi, Arduino)
- Basic Java
Qualifications:
- Graduate or graduating with a diploma or degree in computer science or a related field.
- At least 1-year experience in teaching or tutoring children ages seven and up.
- Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up the basic concepts.
- University students are welcome.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 2-16 per week
Salary: $18.00-$30.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
We have plexiglass installed for individual desks. All staffs and students will need to wear a mask and sanitize hands when they enter the premise.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Richmond, BC V6X 3R8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- computer programing: 1 year (preferred)
- teaching: 1 year (preferred)
