Duties:
Interfacing with Commercial and Program Management Departments during the shipping process to ensure compliance to contractual and export compliance obligations.
Administering shipping & logistics elements in ERP system.
Supports Warehouse staff to assist in proper organization and space allocation of finished goods and specialized purchased inventory that requires large volumes of storage space.
Coordinates transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
Obtains competitive quotes and delivery lead times in accordance with internal and external customer requirements.
Track incoming/outgoing shipments and deliveries communicating delays, etc. to appropriate stake holders.
Preparation of relevant shipping documents including but not limited to Bills of Lading, Dangerous Goods Documentation, shipping labels.
Advises peers and managers on the best shipping terms applied to upcoming proposed contracts;
Preparation of customs documentation including export and import controls as well as the detection of any additional country specific certification required to move product internationally.
Assist Contracts on best shipping INCOTERMS 2010 for all project bids and source quotes/estimates on freight charges. Interpret awarded contracts to establish agreed shipping INCOTERMS 2010;
Manage communications with freight forwarders and customs brokers on all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Prepare domestic and international shipping documentation as required including monitoring, reporting and auditing of customs records in order to comply with CBSA regulations.
Facilitates the Return of Customer Goods Policy for Customer Owned Goods returning to the site for repair and refurb. Liaises with customer for return shipping arrangements upon completion of repair.
Communicates with Contracts the availability of finished goods, ensuring correct lots are assigned to correct customer orders.
Coordination and tracking of 3rd part warehouse locations.
Participate in the development, coordination and execution of DND Stock Taking Plans
Other duties as required by Management.
Required Skills:
Freight Forwarding experience.
Land, Sea, and Air experience.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
Logistics with large products.
2+ years’ experience working as a Logistics Coordinator or similar role.
Holds Canadian Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certification or has willingness/ability to obtain.
Experience working with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel and Outlook skills.
Exceptional analytical thinking, problem solving and organizational skills.
Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and growing environment.
Balance changing priorities and demanding work flow. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
The successful person must be able to gain the appropriate NATO Canadian government security clearance and satisfy all requirements to be able to work on Canadian Controlled Goods projects

Desired Skills:
CITT Certification is considered a definite asset. Must have willingness to obtain.
Previous Procurement experience would be an asset.
