As our People Experience Business Partner, you are a champion of Uncommon Purpose’s culture and values, building strong and trusted relationships with both candidates and team members. You understand the ins and outs of our business and what it takes to be successful on every team you are partnered with, setting the tone for a personal and engaging employee experience. You own the end-to-end employee lifecycle of your dedicated teams while contributing your thought leadership and creativity to enhance our PX practices across the organization. You love supporting and coaching leaders on their approach to high-value people conversations and are passionate about finding new ways to empower our people to do their best work.
We are not your regular “HR” team – we are a People Experience team building the foundation of Uncommon Purpose’s people practices by connecting with our people, collaborating with our leaders, and keeping a finger on the pulse of the organization. We show up with optimism and curiosity, blending the best of traditional HR with new best practices and innovative ideas.
Own the end-to-end People Experience of your dedicated teams across North America, from hire to career development to offboarding.
Provide a personal and engaging people experience by establishing and maintaining close relationships with leaders and team members to understand current employee sentiment and engagement.
Provide broad range advisory guidance to leaders in the areas of employee relations, people programs, employee engagement, and PX best practices.
Deliver both strategic and tactical HR support and programs to team members and leaders, including performance management, recognition, learning and development, and compensation programs.
Lead hiring cycles in partnership with hiring managers and advise on hiring strategy, compensation, and terms and conditions of employment.
Identify opportunities to engage and enhance the employee’s experience, curate culture, and build connections across the company.
Consult and coach all levels of leadership to build and serve high performing, diverse and inclusive teams.
Build credibility and trust among team members; resolve employee concerns with compassion and follow-through.
Skills
Typically, we find that people are successful in this role when they have:
Degree or diploma in Human Resources Management
A minimum of 5 years progressive, well-rounded generalist experience preferably within a technology organization with international employees and/or within a technology startup.
Good working knowledge of BC (primarily), Ontario and Quebec employment legislation and requirements (employment standards, human rights, health & safety, privacy laws. etc)
Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaborative skills across levels with an ability to influence and build enthusiasm and commitment.
Growth-oriented and adaptable to change, comfortable with ambiguity and using judgment.
An agile and continuous learner with a proactive approach to personal development and problem solving.
