POSITION: Brand Manager
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday
JOB TYPE: Full Time Permanent
LOCATION: Incumbent will support our Toronto and Vancouver offices remotely (Due to the ongoing situation with COVID-19, this position is remote/work from home).
*Person must have legal authorization to work in Canada*

PURPOSE:
The Brand Manager will report directly to the Director, Marketing, Branding & Communication and will play a significant role in the development and execution of the Brands+ strategies, marketing plans and new product development to achieve the Company’s short- and long-term business objectives. This role will work together with Sales, Supplier Services, Finance, and outside agency partners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and executes brand planning and execution based on key consumer insights to strengthen brand awareness and trial with consumers
- Strategizes trade positioning, pricing and distribution channels with the SRM manager to optimize success
- Analyzes market trends, competitor, and retailer activity, to maximize growth opportunities and/or neutralize threats
- Leads all trade marketing related initiatives for Brands+ including trade shows, display programs, POS material development, sales presentations, etc.
- Works with the Director on a Brand Renovation, to ensure ideal consumer communication, shelf presence and regulatory compliance, working closely with our external agencies
- Plays a key role in brand innovation from ideation through commercialization supporting the development of a three-year rolling calendar
- Executes programs on time and on budget by managing internal and external stakeholders
- Tracks spending against budget and makes appropriate recommendation necessary to ensure fiscal control
- Manages and mentors the Associate Brand Manager
- Leads projects to produce launches, improvement and rationalization initiatives and ensures milestones are met on time.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or marketing or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Brand Manager role, preferably in the natural health products and/or CPG industry
- Experience leading and mentoring a direct report
- Experience extracting and presenting data in a meaningful manner
- Experience leading projects and working cross-departmentally to achieve your goals
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and listening skills with a strong degree of professionalism.
- Understands how each element of the marketing mix contributes to business objectives and strategy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with quality and efficiency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player, who shows enthusiasm and spirit
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Graphic design program experience is desired
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:
- Minimal physical activity, with the exception of trade show participation where lifting up to 50 lbs and standing / walking for long lengths of time is required.
