JOB DESCRIPTION – OVERVIEW:
Unicorn Labs is a startup. We’re a small and agile team, and because of that, the Creative Content Creator will wear many hats. No two days will look the same, and that makes this job exciting!
Your primary responsibilities will be assisting our CEO in content creation ideation and strategy. You will be sourcing LinkedIn, TikTok ideas and Instagram reels and finding newsworthy stories for podcast discussion.
The perfect candidate for the job is a current undergraduate student who is a passionate, creative storyteller with an eye for captivating content. They have a background in journalism, communication, or content creation background. They love to research and see potential in stories to add their creative points of view. They must be tech-savvy, stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, social media trends, be organized, and be detail-oriented. They must also be able to develop attractive and original content to draw and retain our audience. Our new colleague will be a proactive, resourceful problem solver, and team player, and work hard to increase and promote our brand awareness with impactful content.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curate and manage engaging and informative content for the following social channels using an understanding of their unique algorithms and audiences: LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Twitter.
- Identify trends to trial in various content formats and have an aptitude to make serious content matter into digestible and social formats.
- Plan, storyboard and script content within the tech, corporate, and startup world and add our social and lighthearted spin.
- Plan and manage the content calendar for social media channels and podcasts.
- Research and contribute to sourcing content such as newsworthy stories for social and podcast content discussion.
- Contribute ideas to the development of a quarterly cross-functional marketing content strategy, beginning by improving the existing marketing strategies in place.
- Manage and pivot the strategy/execution as it relates to content as necessary.
- Stay up to date with social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices.
- Work closely with other team members to brainstorm and develop new ideas for content creation.
- Help manage talent, collaborate when necessary, and manage a team of contractors to support your strategy and create compelling visual content. This could include graphic designers and videographers.
- Create weekly reports to track KPIs for in-depth analysis reports that state insights and opportunities. Provide recommendations for content optimization.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- Proficiency in social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytics and reporting skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in content creation or social media management is a plus
- Familiarity with podcast content production is a plus
- Ideally, experience managing marketing campaigns, SEO, but not mandatory

- Part-time: 20-25 hours/week
