The Factory Logistics Supervisor supports the Logistics Department within the Rexdale Plant in the following manner:
Responsible for tactical factory logistics operations, including outbound shipment schedule adherence, inbound off loading and put away, and line replenishment
Accountable to deliver daily schedule adherence, logistics cost savings, customer service, and inventory accuracy at the site
Implement process improvement through operational scorecards and WCM methods
Execute the product group and site level factory logistics strategy
Support internal and external operational benchmarking activities
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Lead site distribution operational processes
Support and provide back up for Production Shift Supervisors
Drive logistics cost reduction through optimization of inbound/primary transportation, and factory warehouse operations.
Execution of standardized logistics EWM / SAP systems, processes, and KPI’s
Customer service improvement through warehouse and transportation loss reduction using WCM tools and methodology
Carbon reduction through factory warehouse improvements, transportation efficiencies, and external collaboration activities
Execute product group and site logistics strategy
Manage site distribution labor pool including daily crew coverage.
Manage warehouse supplies
Manage Forklifts contract leasing and maintenance.
Lead Monthly and Annual Physical Inventory Counts
Manage SAP User ID accounts
Manage third party warehouse storage and inventory issues
Manage third party drivers servicing the plant for inbounds and outbounds
Manage trailer pool for inbounds and outbounds
Manage the chep account for daily load pick up by third party.
Reconcile daily raw and pack transfers from third party warehouse
Arrange logistics for week end production
Weekly approval of invoices for third party drivers
Issue monthly POs for: Forklifts mtce and Leases, Third party warehouse storage and handling charges, Demurrage charges.
Trouble shoot issues with paperwork for inbound and outbound loads.
Reconcile raw and pack materials returned to the third party warehouse in SAP
Issue estimate of expected loads of finished product for the incoming week.
Other duties as required
You’re a born leader: Direct leadership of 12 warehouse associates. Support and interact with a large community of internal and external partners and stakeholders.
You’re a strategy guru: Ability to strategized and flex at a moment’s notice due to changes in Production schedule, labor issues & space constraints.
You’re a dot connector: Ensuring that Outbound Orders (STO’s) are paired with what Production is producing as well as ensuring equipment is available for shipments.
You’re a coach and mentor: Becoming an expert in all areas of the department, using learnings to coach and mentor direct reports into becoming self-sufficient / autonomous.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
2+ years’ work experience with competencies in Warehouse Management Systems, Yard Management Systems, Business Operations
Inventory Management, Customer Service, Logistics and/or Supply Chain Planning knowledge
Operational Knowledge of Warehouse and Transportation Processes
Optimizing Supply Chain Integrated Performance
Strong Analytical & Systems Skills
Proficient in SAP and Excel
Strong Leadership and Influencing Skills
Understanding of Continuous Improvement Process
Optimization of Supply Chain and Logistics KPI’s
