Come grow with us.*Position Summary:*Reporting to the Controller, the successful individual will be a member of the team responsible foranalyzing and reporting on multiple Business Unit(s) projects and results as well as the supervision of accounting and administrative staff.*Key Responsibility Areas:*Functional Support% of Time: 40* Ensuring jobs are properly set up as per contract terms, maintained and closed upon completion* Signing off job set ups, budgets, rate tables, change management documents and job closes* Client cost reporting as required* Month end review, adjustments, accruals and revenue recognition* Maintaining job files* Completing ad hoc reporting requirements as needed* Supporting the BU Manager, Project Manager and Controller as required* Assisting in collection of A/R as neededManage Accounting Teams% of Time: 20* Managing and leading the accounting team of Job Cost Administrators and Admin Assistants* Mentoring the Job Cost Administrators to increase scope of work and knowledge* Providing accounting support* Succession planning for each position in the team* Implementing, facilitating and monitoring development plans for direct reports to ensure progress and completionAnalytical% of Time: 40* Assist in analyzing and completing the project(s) projected final cost (PFC) and percentage of completion methodology (PCM) for revenue recognition* Providing cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress for forecasting* Analyzing job margins for trends and variance to estimates* Reviewing and sign off committed costs, accruals and unbilled revenue balances* Analyzing Over/Under and SG&A accounts for trends and variance to budgets* Variance reporting as required_May be required to perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description_*KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:** Superior organizational and communication skills* Ability to deal with change in a fast-paced environment* Excellent customer service skills, both internal and external* Ability to work independently and in a team* Ability to multi-task, be adaptable and adhere to deadlines* Excellent analysis, problem solving and planning skills* Proficient knowledge and understanding of IFRS 15 – Revenue from Contracts with Customers* Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, is required; as well as proficiency with computerized accounting software programs, preferably Sage 300 (Accpac)* Experience in supervision including the training and mentoring of team members* Experience in conflict management and negotiations* Direct supervision of Job Cost Administrators and Administrative Assistants* Assignment and review of tasks and responsibilities of employees you are supervising* Hiring or termination of employees* Completion of performance reviews for direct reports* Employee discipline as required* Approval of overtime or time off* Approval of employee expenses* Operates within existing budgetary limits*JOB REQUIREMENTS:** Post-secondary diploma or certification from accredited college or technical/business school* Professional Designation considered an asset* Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience required* Proven proficiency within a senior accounting or finance function within an industrial, manufacturing or construction contracting company* Proven technical understanding of IFRS 15* Professional accounting experience including job costing, financial analysis and financial reportingPrevious experience preparing financial statements considered an assetSafety:Safety is a critical priority in all aspects of the work done at URS.
