The Michener Institute is looking to recruit a seasoned clinician as the Clinical Coordinator for the onsite chiropody teaching clinic.
Position Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Academic Affairs and Operation the coordinator will be responsible for the following:
Overseeing the Michener Chiropody Clinic teaching activities
Responding to the needs/feedback of clients in order to deliver high quality care for all patients
Recruiting qualified chiropodists to supervise the provision of chiropody services by students to clients of the Clinics
Orientates new faculty/staff/students
Provides client treatment/service when necessary and where qualified
Responsibility for developing policies and procedures for the Clinic
Responsible for maintaining professional standards of practice are upheld
Advancing best practices in health science education in foot health promotion and care
Collaborating with Michener faculty to ensure continuity and standardized educational practices in alignment with the program in the delivery of foot care services to clients
Collaborate with the chiropody program clinical liaison officer and course leads to ensure clinical educational competencies of the program can be met by all students
Leading the financial growth and sustainability of the Clinics
Developing and maintaining positive external relationships/partnerships with professional associations
Serving as an advisor and main point of contact between all stakeholders
Providing leadership and support for staff
Advancing practice with technology and exploring new equipment needs
Collaborating with the Communications department on marketing initiatives and any promotional materials
Maintains and reports statistical information on clinic activities
Participating in conferences, professional meetings and trade shows to promote Clinic activities
Providing Best Experience, Best Education for Michener’s community
Committing to Michener’s academic and operational plan
Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
A Chiropodist in good standing with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario (or eligible for registration) preferred
Master’s Degree preferred
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Experience and demonstrated success in starting up and managing a cost recovery clinic
Demonstrated commitment to positive teaching and learning environments
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience expected
Good judgement and independent decision making skills
Demonstrated strong relationships within the interprofessional healthcare team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Enthusiastic, energetic and a willingness to work hard
Strong interpersonal and time-management skills
Technical and computer skills a must
Vaccines (COVID-19) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
